Some of the lore will also be uncovered by meeting rival factions. Lore appears to be deep for Age of Wonders: Planetfall, and Paradox have mentioned that players will be able to explore planetary ruins in order to learn more about past events. Paradox have also confirmed the game will have more multiple victory paths, with diplomacy, conquest and doomsday devices being quoted so far. Age of Wonders: Planetfall apparently has a large cast of races, units with customisable weapons and destructive environments. Players will need to fight, build, negotiate and advance their technology in order to reach the utopia for their people. That said, there will be no lack of challenge in the game according to Paradox Interactive. Somehow it sounds like Frostpunk in a futuristic setting as well, albeit without the brutal decision making. The story is set at some point in future, where players will "emerge from the dark age of a fallen galactic empire" and will be tasked with "building a new future for their people". The game will continue the turn based empire building strategy pattern, with a dash of mechs shooting and punching any enemies in sight, as opposed to the previous fantasy setting. Release date, or more like release window, is set for 2019. Triumph Studios will be the developers behind Age of Wonders: Planetfall, the same developers who worked on the previous entries in the series.
